Counselling
for children and young people

Psychotherapeutic counsellors are trained to help their clientsto explore and express their thoughts & feelings.

When working with you and/or your young person, my role is to listen and create a safe, non-judgemental space, in which everyone feels heard and understood.

By helping clients to reflect upon and articulate their feelings and needs, it is often possible to identify small but helpful interventions that might alleviate distress or discomfort, and create positive change.

Support
for parents and carers

I am also experienced in working with parents and carers, on their own or within their family group.

In these sessions, I aim to facilitate conversations that matter, and help clients identify and learn the psychological skills they need to build connection, communicate effectively, and develop more effective emotional regulation.

Trauma informed practice
& emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)

Having worked within multi-disciplinary teams in social care and education, I'm able to help families find creative solutions to difficulties that their young people might be experiencing with school or college.

For example we might think together about 'reasonable adjustments'  for your child, or how to create the right plan for a young person who is being educated in another setting.

With experience in mainstream and specialist SEMH classrooms, I am a passionate advocate of a trauma informed approach, and able to support school teams with reflective practice, CPD, and consultancy.
